Application of three-dimensionally shaped parts geometries
As addition to the IMD-decoration the Insert Molding offers by a higher deformation of the foil further possibilities where decoration of strongly contoured and formed parts is requested. Insert Molding combines hot stamping process, vacuum-forming and molding process.
This method consists of several working steps:
1. vac-formable thin hot stamping foils are hot stamped on ABS foil
2. these hot stamped ABS-foils are vac-formed under heat
3. the vac-formed sheets are the so-called "insert shells" which are individually die-cutted
4. the "insert shell" is put into the injektion mold
5. the mold is filled with molding resin (behind the insert shell)
