Insert Molding
Application of three-dimensionally shaped parts geometries

As addition to the IMD-decoration the Insert Molding offers by a higher deformation of the foil further possibilities where decoration of strongly contoured and formed parts is requested. Insert Molding combines hot stamping process, vacuum-forming and molding process.

This method consists of several working steps:

1. vac-formable thin hot stamping foils are hot stamped on ABS foil 2. these hot stamped ABS-foils are vac-formed under heat 3. the vac-formed sheets are the so-called "insert shells" which are individually die-cutted
4. the "insert shell" is put into the injektion mold 5. the mold is filled with molding resin (behind the insert shell) 6. and then the finished part can be taken out.
