TOUCHWOOD®
  Proven process and advanced technology

The dry lacquer

TOUCHWOOD® is a lacquer film comprising a polyester carrier and a lacquer package with a decor, protective top coat and adhesive layer.

During application, heat releases the lacquer package from the carrier and activates the adhesive which then forms a permanent bond with the substrate. In contrast to other technologies, in the case of TOUCHWOOD® only the lacquer package is transferred and the carrier film is rewound separately.

The Process

The dry lacquer film is transferred from the roll onto the substrate to be decorated by the use of pressure and temperature. Since the adhesive layer of the lacquer package only adheres where counterpressure exists, high edge definition is achieved and no subsequent trimming, shaping or cutting is required.

TOUCHWOOD® - The Process Advantages
  • TOUCHWOOD® operates in an environmentally friendly manner without liquid adhesives and solvents - making expensive investments in extraction systems unnecessary.

  • As the last working operation in production, TOUCHWOOD® can also be used to decorate finished trimmed parts and thereby increases flexibility in production.

  • Furniture parts coated with TOUCHWOOD® can be further processed immediately - without lost time due to drying or intermediate storage.

  • Because damaged or incorrectly decorates parts can be recoated, TOUCHWOOD® reduces to a minimum the scrap rates typical in the industry.

  • Transfer machines allow simple and fast change-over of rolls or design - that provides for more flexibility in production.

  • TOUCHWOOD® enables efficient decoration of profiles made of solid wood and MDF as well as extruded profiles - in a one step operation, with a single foil track and without mismatches in the decor image.
